From the Editors June 2022

Dear Authors and Readers

The COVID-19 pandemic, which everyone has been struggling with for more than 2 years, has adversely affected various aspects of economic and social life. It also influenced the slowdown in creative work, research, and publishing activities.
Our journal has also been affected by the devastating impact of the pandemic, but nevertheless, we strive to publish articles at a high scientific level and on time. We would like to present to you issue 2, volume 15, 2022.
Please, pay attention to the interesting article by a noted Professor of the Warsaw School of Economics, Witold Rakowski, which presents the structural change in the role of the industrialized region of Silesia in Poland. For many years, the region had been attracting people from other areas of Poland. After the transformation, despite the processes of modernization, it became a region pushing out the population.
We also recommend the article presenting the definitions of green economy and green growth, necessary for understanding the New Green Deal being implemented in Europe and other countries in the world, which is a response to the depletion of natural resources and climate change.
Using the example of Nigeria, we indicate the essence of the relationship between various concepts and aspects related to financial, and economic development, which is important for other African countries. We also present the results of the research, reports, and analyses on the development of agricultural crop insurance, rural development, and the functioning of social enterprises in India, Kosovo, and Hungary.
The issue is supplemented by theoretical articles on leadership in an organization and work on the methods of defining and classifying traditional and virtual teams. The whole volume is complemented by a review of Andrzej and Magdalena Miszczuk's monographs on local economic policy.
So far, the editorial team of Economic and Regional Studies / Studia Ekonomiczne i Regionalne has presented works conveying theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of economics, finance, economic geography, business and development, and various aspects of development policy. The journal has been included in many important indexing databases, lately to ERICH+. Now we are setting ourselves the goal of introducing the journal to the Web of Science and Scopus databases. To achieve this, we would like to narrow the leading thematic scope to the issue of the importance of local and regional development for the general socio-economic development of states and regional systems.
A new tool for achieving this goal may be the introduction of the Guest Editor's institution, which we want to propose to eminent specialists in the specific subject matter, from Poland and abroad, who have developed extensive scientific cooperation with authors from various research centers.
With this intention, the editing of the next issue will be handed over to Joanna Rakowska, Ph.D, who specializes in sustainable local and regional development.
