Przedmiot i cel pracy: Niniejsze badanie analizuje determinanty handlu wewnątrz Wspólnoty Gospodarczej Państw Afryki Środkowej (ECCAS), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli jakości instytucjonalnej w latach 1996-2021. Materiały i metody: W badaniu przeprowadzono analizę opisową i wykorzystano model ujemnego dwumianowego rozkładu pseudo-największej wiarygodności do analizy czynników determinujących handel wewnątrz ECCAS. Wyniki: Wyniki sugerują, że produkt krajowy brutto (PKB), liczba ludności, czas potrzebny na wysyłkę eksportową w krajach eksportujących oraz dwustronny realny kurs wymiany kraju partnerskiego importującego zwiększają przepływy handlowe wewnątrz ECCAS. Z drugiej strony, odległość, brak dostępu do morza obu partnerów handlowych, czas dla krajów importujących i dwustronny realny kurs wymiany partnera eksportującego zniechęcają do tego. Co więcej, wyniki pokazują, że instytucje mają kluczowe znaczenie dla handlu wewnątrz ECCAS. Wnioski: Kluczowymi czynnikami wpływającymi na handel wewnątrz ECCAS są PKB, liczba ludności, czas potrzebny na wysyłkę eksportową w krajach eksportujących, dwustronny realny kurs wymiany kraju partnerskiego importującego oraz miary jakości instytucji.
