ABSTRACT
Subject and purpose of work: This article compares the domestic output multiplier in Germany, Poland and Slovakia and identifies exploratory comparative markers of production-linkage structures in economies with different degrees of openness and positions in European production networks. Materials and methods: The study uses OECD input-output tables, 2025 release, for 2022. The method combines the domestic multiplier level, its decomposition into direct and indirect effects, and multiplier leakages between total and domestic effects. Results: Mean domestic multipliers are almost identical in Germany and Poland (1.713 and 1.711) and lower in Slovakia (1.650). At the same time, leakages increase stepwise from Germany to Poland and Slovakia, especially in export-oriented manufacturing. Conclusions: Sectoral multiplier potential should be assessed jointly with leakages. Similar multiplier values may conceal different levels of localisation of intermediate consumption and different structural positions in European production networks.
