Przedmiotem tego opracowania jest analiza dostępnej literatury przedmiotu w celu uzyskania pełniejszego zrozumienia różnych koncepcji i wymiarów kompetencji finansowych. Przegląd obejmował różne parametry, takie jak kompetencje finansowe wśród młodych ludzi, pracowników, kobiet i studentów oraz wpływ kompetencji finansowych na dobrostan i decyzje inwestycyjne. Gromadzono informacje drugorzędowe pochodzące z wielu publikacji, stron internetowych, artykułów naukowych i publikacji. Poziom kompetencji finansowych w Indiach nadal wydaje się niezadowalający. W licznych badaniach wykazano niski poziom kompetencji finansowych w różnych segmentach populacji Indii, choć z niektórych badań wynika, że poziom wiedzy o finansach jest umiarkowany. Kompetencje finansowe to zagadnienie, które trudno opisać i zmierzyć. Definicja i pomiar tego zagadnienia są przedmiotem licznych badań. Należy wprowadzić zmiany w polityce, aby poprawić poziom kompetencji finansowych zarówno na poziomie podstawowym, jak i zaawansowanym, aby ludzie mogli rozsądniej oszczędzać i inwestować pieniądze, korzystając z różnych możliwości, jakie oferuje rynek.
